About me:
It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s and raising kids that I fell into the Embroiderer’s Guild of America and the Hardanger embroidery of Norway, which I consider my gateway drug. I’m sure I had other enthusiasms prior to this amazing discovery, but I can’t remember them.
Around the same time, an Estonian gift shop opened in Baltimore just after Estonia gained independence from the Soviet Union. I bought three pairs of mittens that became the basis for a class in the needlework shop I opened in Maine in 2008. Books and articles written by Nancy Bush further inspired me.
The Embroiderer’s Guild has given me access to brilliant teachers and I have studied at the Viljandi Cultural Academy in Estonia.
I now teach and hold weekend retreats in my 1832 farmhouse in Norridgewock, Maine. I will happily travel wherever there’s interest in classes or lectures. Contact me!
